Surface Preparation
- The existing coating was removed, and the substrate was blast cleaned using an environmentally friendly, low-cost blast media. This preparation was essential to ensure that the new coating would adhere properly to the pipeline.
Application of UPS 908 MP METAL PRIMER
- The cleaned substrate was primed with two coats of UPS 908 MP, applied to a total dry film thickness of 200 microns. This primer provided a strong base layer that protected the steel from corrosion.
Application of UPS 509 UVST UV STABLE TOPCOAT
- The primed surface was then coated with UPS 509 UVST, applied at 100 microns wet film thickness. This topcoat provided a high-gloss, UV-stable finish, ensuring that the pipeline was protected from UV damage and environmental wear.
