Preparation: The hot water pipe was first drained and allowed to cool to ambient temperature to ensure a safe and effective repair environment.
Surface Preparation: The repair area was thoroughly cleaned and abraded using the UPS MINI-BLASTER. This process achieved a surface cleanliness level of Sa 2.5, ensuring optimal adhesion of the repair paste.
Application of UPS 105 EG: UPS 105 EG was applied to both the cleaned substrate and a preformed steel plate. Both surfaces were pressed together and secured with a clamp to maintain contact during the curing process.
Finial Finish: After the initial bond cured, a final finish coat of UPS 105 EG was applied over the bonded plate to encapsulate it, providing additional protection and ensuring a robust and permanent repair.
